In the Classroom - Juniors

The first two weeks of Term 3 has been fun and eventful. In Week 2, all the juniors welcomed seven students from our sister school in China by singing “What’s your name, my friend” in China at the assembly. Some of us also performed our play “xiao ji ji ji” (Chicken Licken)  to the seniors and the Chinese students.

Students have been enjoying our new writing approach ‘The Seven Steps to

Writing Success’ with our second step, sizzling starts. We have been learning about engaging our

audience in our writing and making them want to read on and find out more. From Week 3, we have started Step 3, Tightening Tension.

The juniors  Maths Groups we have been revisiting place value. The Preps will keep exploring subtraction while some of the the Grade 1s and 2s will be learning multiplication.

In Class Maths we are exploring data and looking and using Venn diagrams to present similarities and

Differences, as well as seasons.

Discovery Learning:

The juniors have made a great start on the topic “China” in their DL lessons. Parents are encouraged to come in and help out, or research with their children at home.
